UPDATE ON PREVIOUS POST (You have to read the previous post to understand this one)

I understand I just came back from the movie theater yesterday and I had a tiny case of excitement-over-movie-itis. That still doesn't mean I'm taking back what I said. I just want you to know that I think it's wrong if someone miscasts a character because this person was in a famous franchise. And if this certain famous franchise earns certain awards it doesn't deserve, I will be mad. And if this franchise's fans act all batshit crazy, I will be pissed. So, the only reason to have a love/hate relationship with this franchise is to have it because of the fans and the overhype and basically the results of the overhype. But other than that, I still love the franchise.

Oh, and one more thing...

If someone doesn't cast someone because of their infamy in a certain franchise (say a certain Jasper as a certain Harry Osbourne...), I will be pissed.

Oh, and another one more thing...

I CAN'T BELIEVE NEW MOON GOT ONLY AROUND 20%!!!!!!!

Reviews and Revelations (There's a New Moon in the horizon... and Bloody White Flower falling in darkness...With painful love in Rain and Italy)

Technically, it's ONE review and ONE revelation. Let's start off with the review.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Beautiful Poster)

I was blown away. I was really surprised! I thought it was going to be terrible, awful, cheesy, nothing there at all. Boy, was I wrong!

When I watched it, it was like being a dream. Not a dream like a daydream where everything you want happens, but a real dream. It felt ethreal, and surreal. The chemistry in the movie was definitely there. Bella's pain I could feel, and the worry of the others I could feel too. I think Bella and Jacob have more chemistry, but maybe that's just me. I think this is a movie only a hopeless romantic teenager like me could understand. My weirdass anime fan friends? Hell no. My weirdass anime fan sister? Hell no. It's just something about it... It has true romance, but in a teenager way, which I love. I understand adult ones too, but mostly teenage romances. Also, the fantasy aspect. The only bad thing about it was the sparkling in the sun, but I'm starting to get over it. The wolves, however, I LOVE. The fight between Jacob and Paul reminded me of the polar bear fight in Golden Compass (hmmmm same director...). The vampires running and the wolves running, again, a beautiful dream. Oh, by the way, the graphics are much better (the wolves are ferocious), and so is the music! I liked the humor too. All in all, this is my type of movie.

As for the revelation...

I realized I love Twilight. I can't help it. I'm drawn to it. I've given up, I've waved the white flag, called a truce. I don't care if Bella is Mary Sue, so are most of the best characters. I don't care if the vampires sparkle in the sun, it can be beautiful if you imagine that way. I don't care for Breaking Dawn, it's not canon to me. That's the beauty of it; how I interpret it, it's beautiful. I see the depth in the "shallowness". I see the pain, the sorrow, the love, the magic. And I don't care if I lose credibility by my friends' standards and by my sister's standards - I. Love. Twilight. There are most defintiely flaws. But who cares? Everything has flaws. Everything! I can't believe I denied this for so long, bashing it when I got the chance. Destroying this beauty... I think it's because of the overhype and the crazy batshit fans. If it wasn't so crazyass popular, I would love it ten times more. So yeah. There's my revelation.

PS

One of my favorite scenes in the movie -

Maybe spoiler?

Right after Jacob hangs up on Edward after Jacob told Edward that Charlie was planning for a funeral (didn't specify which one), Edward was crushing the phone, and looking like he just died inside. That scene was so beautiful...

Spider Man 4 Reboot - Ups, Downs, and MY pick for some of the cast

Yes. There is going to be a reboot of the franchise that started it all for me. Here was my first reaction:

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! They are taking my childhood memories, raping them, shitting on them, eating them, regurgitating on them, and raping them even more!"

Now that I have a clear, unbiased (kind of) mind, I will list the Pros and Cons:

CONS

The first two Spider Man movies were amazing. It was the third one that screwed it up.

We have already seen an origin story. Apparantly, a bunch of producers think that most people in the world don't know how Spider Man came to be, even though it's even mentioned in TWILIGHT.

They're taking steps backwards. How? By putting Peter Parker back in HIGH SCHOOL.

Tobey Mcguire was a great Spiderman. I guess he's too old though...

No Sam Raimi.

The unstability of this project - it could be so good, or take turn for utter misery.

PROS

They're sending him back to high school. Yes, it could be a pro too. They could start this franchise from scratch... which means...

SPIDER MAN HAS A CHANCE OF BEING IN THE AVENGERS (more of a chance, anyways)

No Sam Raimi. That could also be a pro. We could see a more realistic, more dark humourous (instead of emo), more real emotional Spider Man. Even though Sam Raimi's was amazing...

New cast. They could start off with a perfect cast; the last cast wasn't too...right. (Even though it was mostly in my book!). Which brings me to who I think would be awesome and why.

Director:

Many people said (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb would be an amazing choice, for his perfect portrayal of realistic emotion. If that's a good movie, I definitely agree. Other choices that other people have pointed out (or that I pick) that I wouldn't be too sad about: James Cameron, The Wachowskis, Spike Jonze... And perhaps Sam Mendes (director of new James Bond movie!). David Fincher as well (Fight Club, Panic Room...) Any more suggestions? Then COMMENT.

Peter Parker/Spider Man

This was probably the most obvious choice:

Anton Yelchin

I think he could pull this off so well! He's played the adorable geeky type in Star Trek, and he's played the tough kind in Terminator Salvation. He's a great actor, he's looks young enough, and he's just so adorably hot (not valid reason, but still).

Other good choices (IMO) :

Aaron Johnson: Dude of Nowhere Boy, a British "early days" biopic of John Lennon, and Kick Ass, in which he plays a humourous geek who decides to become a superhero. You can tell where I'm going with this, right? (Perfect age btw, well almost, perfect... (born 1990))

Josh Hutcherson: Out of these three, I've seen most of this guy's movies. Zathura (directed by fellow Jon Favereau), Firehouse Dog (I actually like that movie), Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D. He's also in Bridge to Terabithia, which I have yet to see. Well I mention him more of as a "I-wouldn't-mind-if-he-was-picked" pick. He the youngest, the closest to the age. He can play dorky, and tough. So yeah. I don't mind him.

Mary Jane Watson:

Evan Rachel Wood

She seems more like the comic book Mary Jane: Sexy Redhead Party Girl. Evan Rachel Wood is a chick who: Has been rumoured to be giving Megan Fox a run for her money, she can act (according to people who have seen in the two episodes of True Blood, The Wrestler, and perhaps even Across the Universe), and she's a good age (22). Oh, and she has a taste for weird men (her real life fiance is Marilyn Manson), which Spidey would qualify.

Elena Satine

She's a redhead actress who was slated to be Mary Jane in the Broadway musical. She's been to many acting schools and she can sing pretty damn well.

Harry Osbourne:

Jackson Rathbone

Okay so he was born in 1984, and he is in Twilight. However, he plays the deepest character in Twilight: Jasper. Jackson Rathbone (as Tahlia Angel pointed out) is "beautiful in a strange way." You know, instead of an American muscle car, he's a Mazda Taiki Concept Car (RAWR). He can play a deeply complicated, somewhat psychopathic character (have you seen S. Darko? Of course not, it's terrible, but he's CRAZY in that movie). And, if he didn't fall victim to weird ass hair, he'd be a stud. Hell, he still IS a stud...;)

Gwen Stacey:

Mia Wasikowska

My first choice. She's had some experience with big movies, such as Defiance, and ahem, Alice in Wonderland. She seems like a sweet girl, and she's blonde, and she's about the right age.

Hayden Panetierre

She's also blonde and a sweetheart. And she has had experience with comic-booky stuff. Although she seems more like a Mary Jane, and I don't want her to be Mary Jane.

And perhaps Lilo from Lilo and Stitch - she could just dye her hair blonde:

Daveigh Chase

And for the villain: TOTALLY Morbeus. He's a REAL (okay, in some, he's vampire-like) vampire.

So yeah. What do you think? Post your comments below.

UPDATE:

Marc Webb is the new director of the Spider-Man Reboot Trilogy. COMMENTS!!!
