A lot of Rants, Ravings, and Interesting Little Details - Some That May Impact the World

I have a lot to tell you. Movie stuff too.

First off, I watched Donnie Darko.

The movie was very well made, very artistically sound, not at all how I thought it'd be. It was also very confusing. It was very depressing, though, more so than The Dark Knight. You just want the hero (he sort of was) to succeed, and I don't think he did. I cried at the ending. Oh god, it was a horrible ending to an already depressing movie. He just didn't become a better person because of the ending - it just frustrated me!

One good thing did come out of the ending, though. I heard this song once. On CSI. It was one of the most awesome songs ever. The problem is I didn't know which season or which episode, so my attempts on finding it were futile - I just gave up after a while. But then, a few days ago I watch Donnie Darko - and there's the song! Playing at the ending! I was like, "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLELUJAH!!!! AMEN!!! WHOOT WHOOT!!!" So I just had to search on Google for a better website than Tunefind (DON'T GO ON IT - IT DIDN'T DO ME ANY JUSTICE!!!!!) and found stlyrics.com. And sure enough, there it was - the song is "Mad World" by Gary Jules. The lyrics are down here:

Verse 1
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, Worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, Going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, No expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, No tomorrow

Chorus
And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
These dreams in which i'm dying, Are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it’s a very very….
Mad World, Mad World

Verse 2
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And they feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, No one knew me
Hello teacher tell me whats my lesson
Look right through me, Look right through me

Chorus
And I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
These dreams in which i'm dying, Are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it’s a very very….
Mad World, Mad World

And here's the Donnie Darko video someone created for this song:

Isn't it depressing? I think so. But it goes along with the movie perfectly.

And now stuff about 10 Things I Hate About You and The ATLA movie and other stuff.

Oh yeah. They're making a new 10 Things I Hate About You TV MOVIE!!!!!

Jolene Purdy, who was in Donnie Darko as Cherita Chun, is going to be in it. And so is Dana Davis (Monica Dawson from Heroes). And so is Lindsey Shaw, who is Moze from NED'S DECLASSIFIED. And Nicholas Braun (Zeke from Minutemen). And Meaghan Jette Martin, who was Tess in CAMP ROCK. Yeah. CAMP ROCK.

The main guy, who's taking Heath Ledger's role, is Gregory Peck (Atticus Finch)'s grandson, who was in a MARY KATE & ASHLEY MOVIE. Here's what he looks like:

Is it just me, or has Hollywood lowered its standards to "below shit"?

Now for the new ATLA (Avatar the Last Airbender) movie - The Last Airbender.

This is, believe it or not, M. Night Shyamlan's new project. Yeah. What happened? The world is coming to an end...

Anyways, Yensin (Shaun Toub) from Iron Man is going to be Uncle Iroh. Sokka is going to be played by...Jackson Rathbone - aka JASPER HALE FROM TWILIGHT!!! He is sooooo much better than Edward, jsyk. He's also in the straight-to-dvd sequel to Donnie Darko : S. Darko. *sob* About that later. And Dev Patel, aka the main guy from Slumdog Millionaire, is GOING TO BE ZUKO. No.

Now for S. Darko. The same girl who was Samantha Darko in the first movie (Lilo from Lilo and Stitch and Chihiro from Spirited Away) is Samantha in the next movie. Her best friend is played by Brianna Evigan (Step Up 2: The Streets). Ed Westwick and, as I mentioned, Jackson Rathbone are also in it. UGH.

Randomness, I know, but here's the main theme to Schindler's List, composed by John Williams himself:

That's it for now...
